Baby Ridge (Boudreaux) Brown was born at Baptist Desoto on February 14, 2017. He was immediately sent to Baptist East Hospital by ambulance. He had problems at birth with esophageal atresia and tracheoesophageal fistula. He spent a month in NICU at Baptist East hospital. Ridge had surgery two days after birth to regain his esophagus. Ridge also had another surgery at Little Rock Children's Hospital to open up his airway. In August, Ridge had Tracheomalacia and Laryngomalacia. Both of these cause airway complications. Something as simple as a cold sends Ridge to the hospital for multiple days. Ridge is also not able to attend a daycare due to his compromised airway. On September 26, Ridge had another surgical procedure, Nissen fundoplication, to repair his esophogus. A gastrostomy-jejunostomy tube was used to give him an alternate way for feeding to help make gains in growth due to his complications. With his tube, Ridge requires around the clock care and home health nurses. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
