Emily's Pain Free Fund
Donation protected
At 12 years old and in the seventh grade, Emily Borden was on a swim team. At the end of her swim season, she swam a stroke she had never practiced and hurt her back. Just before her sophomore year, she aggravated it further on a Venture Crew outing. From then on, she has been living with extreme pain. She has been seen by chiropractors, physicians, and pain specialists. Emily recently traveled to Wisconsin to see another specialist who did not offer any help. While seeing multiple specialists she was diagnosed with a herniated disc at the L5/S1 space in her back. She has been to pediatric specialists in Grand Rapids, Ortho physicians in Holland, and pain specialists with limited results. She is now looking at PRP injections or stem cell injections to help, but these are costly. Emily was an extremely active young lady until her initial injury and is still trying to remain as active as possible while fighting through the pain. The money raised here will help pay for further treatments that will hopefully help her regain her active lifestyle and finally rid her of the pain!
