Please Help Baby Emma in Her Fight against Brain Cancer
On December 13th 2014, Emma Alice Dowgiert was born into this world to Casey and Joey Dowgiert. In her first few months of her life, little Emma had every indication of being a perfectly healthy, sweet and beautiful baby girl. In late February of 2015, Emma was checked into Boston Children’s Hospital due to chronic congestion and flu like symptoms that were not clearing up on their own. After a series of tests the doctor’s at Children’s Hospital gave Emma’s parents the devastating diagnosis that she has a rare and aggressive form of Glioma (tumor) in her brain stem. Due to the seriousness of her condition and the location of this tumor, it has started to affect her basic motor skills within her face, hands and eye coordination. Little Emma has already undergone two (2) brain surgeries and several minor medical procedures to prepare her for chemotherapy treatments. She is still at the beginning of a very long road of chemotherapy and other related treatments and procedures.
The costs associated with this type of long term treatment regimen are staggering as well as the significant adjustments parents must make to their employment situations and overall lifestyle. We ask you to please join us in assisting baby Emma and her parents Casey and Joey to help defray the mounting medical costs and mitigate the impact of the work and life changes necessary to support Emma through her journey to recovery. We are reaching out to family, friends and anyone who has it within their hearts and financial means to raise funds for her treatment and other associated costs during this time. We also ask that anyone who cannot contribute financially please keep Emma in your hearts, thoughts and prayers, for whatever is asked for in prayer, will be received through faith in God.
