I am looking to raise money to purchase 12 solar panel battery charger kits for elementary school children who are homeless, or do not have electricity to charge their school laptops for distance(virtual) learning.

WHO:
12 children at my friend's school that are classified "homeless" and need a way to charge their school borrowed Chromebooks.
WHAT:
I want to raise money to purchase 12 of these Solar Panel Battery Charger Kits for kids that don't have power to charge their Chromebooks for school.
Cost of each solar kit: $229
WHY:
School is a safe place for kids - where they get the same education as their peers in the same school. With the rest of the school year being virtual - and now home is the classroom, some students are having a harder time adjusting to this new normal - and charging their new virtual classroom should not be adding to this difficult time.
IF 50 PEOPLE DONATE $50 - WE CAN GET ALL 12 STUDENTS THEIR OWN KIT!!

To start off this campaign, Corey and I will donate $229 - one full kit for one student!
WHAT ABOUT ANY EXTRA MONEY?
Any extra donations above the $2800 will go towards more solar panel kits for more children in need! These kits can be reused for years to come - for more and more kids who need a little help!

Back Story:
My best friend works as an Elementary School Teacher where 30% of the students are qualified as homeless (which is only going to get worse in our current economy). During this crazy time where they are unable to attend school, the school districts gave each student a Chromebook to borrow for the remainder of the school year.
But for these 30% students, they not only have to worry about how to get WiFi for these Chromebooks, but also how to charge them, too.
When she told me this info, it really shook me. These kids are already fighting an uphill battle - but now this is another hurdle that is standing in their way to succeed.
I did some research and found these compact solar panel battery kits - which have enough juice to charge a laptop!
If I can get 50 people to donate $50 - we can have enough money to buy each kid that needs one their own kit! Or 100 people to donate $25! Let's do this!!!
