Eagle Scout Project for Kids with Cancer
Donation protected
My
name is Sean Mehr, and I am a Life Scout of Troop 24 in Kennett Square, PA. I am
currently working on my Eagle Scout Project to benefit a local charity organization
known as Adopt a Pig. Adopt a Pig was founded to help children and their families cope as they face
their greatest challenge, fighting pediatric cancer.
One of their programs is the Coping Kit. Designed to serve as a care package in the form of a large tote bag, a Coping Kit contains items necessary to aid in the physical, emotional, and financial struggle that takes place from the time of pediatric cancer diagnosis and beyond. The range of items in the Coping Kit varies from large to small, from high-tech to low-tech, each playing a role in a family's effort to move forward.
My project involves putting together at least six Coping Kits for these families. Many of the items in a Coping Kit are inexpensive and fairly easy to obtain. However, there are a few more expensive items in a Coping Kit. I need this money to purchase six tote bags ($60 each), six iPads ($600 each), and other small items that will be a part of the Coping Kits. The iPad is a personal coping item that the child will use while traveling to and from the hospital.
Any size contribution to my Eagle Scout Project would be much appreciated. If you would like more information about Adopt a Pig, please visit adoptapig.org. Thank you very much.
