Scholarship Awards for StoriesLive
Donation protected
We are doing a 10 day fundraiser for our 6 year old, unique and time tested, curriculum based, high school storytelling program and regional contest. Nearly 8,000 Greater Boston high school students have learned to tell compelling personal narratives, live, without notes or props using the StoriesLive® curriculum. Since fall 2016 StoriesLive® has been administered as a project independent from massmouth, inc. and we need to finish raising the funds for our students.
Every year we award cash scholarship prizes to our students in a one of a kind regional, high school story slam. This year our slam is at Club Passim, in Cambridge MA on Saturday, May 7th from 10 - 2pm. As always, our slam is free and open to the public.
We have a true passion for people and their stories and we tell students of all ages, " You lived it, now...you can tell it!" Since we work in Title 1 schools and many of our participants come from families struggling to make ends meet. The awards mean help with college apps, dorm furniture, or a laptop or tablet to help students succeed.
"English teachers say they have been blown away by the effectiveness of StoriesLive® in getting students to open up and express themselves...” Newburyport News. com
Our “... organization’s credo is simple but powerful:
“We believe everyone has a story to tell, and that the greater community will be more honest and compassionate through the listening to and sharing of stories.” — Susan Miron, Arts Fuse
Your donation goes directly to the student storytellers to help them with any educational expense. It means the world to the students to be recognized and supported in their endeavors.
We are so thankful for your support. Every donation counts!
