Westsound Arts Council Wycoff Mural CBA

Hi, my name is Faye Flemister co-owner of Unique Experience Custom Embroidery shop and President of the Charleston Business Association in Bremerton, WA.

The Charleston Business Association team has been working for several years to energize interactions and investments to improve our community's health and impact social growth. The City of Bremerton has designated Charleston as a District Center that serves not only the neighborhood but the community as a whole. The Area Wide Planning Study was completed to provide steps to create a vibrant area that serves as a gateway to Bremerton from most routes into the city from the West Side. One key element is to improve the 11th. street / Wycoff overpass with a major mural, updated lighting, extended sidewalks and more. This was suggested before St. Vincent de Paul's plan for a major campus upgrade fronting both Callow and Wycoff and will dramatically improve the area. It will also create a sense of unity for our community and address a much-needed solution to providing services for those who are in need along with over 140 housing units.

The City has committed to investing about $55,000 to prep the overpass and complete other needed improvements. The CBA has created a formal plan to fund our part with a goal of $30,000. The targeted completion date will be June 30, 2025.

All funds will be used for this one project and the West Sound Art Council will be our fiduciary with it's WSAC's 501C3 status, allowing for all donations to qualify for tax deduction. We are asking all community leaders, residents and supporters to help us REACH OUR GOAL!
