A Christmas Present for 180 Preschool Children

This summer, I traveled with my cousins to South Africa. Since we are all either educators or worship volunteers, one of our first stops was a local school, Emmanuel Educare Centre, where we took our suitcases full of donations directly. We met the school's principal, read/performed for a class, and met 180 amazing kiddos aged three to six.

These 180 kids need Christmas presents! Their Santa Shoebox application for funding was denied this year because of limited capacity. And, for most of them, this will be the only present they receive, according to the principal. This present will include the following: one washcloth, soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a toy, and a piece of candy. Thus, we are asking for a heartfelt donation, as most of these items are basic necessities.

This donation will be transferred to the Cape Town travel agency, GiltEdge Travel, where our trusted agent, Tanya, will buy locally and transport the goods to the school. The school will package and disperse the presents to the kids. I will post pictures as I receive them through the process!

We saw these students personally and fell in love with them. We want them to have a wonderful holiday! We will buy additional items if we raise more than needed for these essential items. Thank you for your kind consideration.
