A Loving Tribute to Grandma Fina

Dear friends and family,

Our beloved Grandma Fina, Josefina Grimaldo Rodriguez, has been a pillar of strength and love for our family for all of her adult life. Born on August 26, 1930, she has lived a life full of sacrifice, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Grandma Fina's journey has been marked by incredible resilience. As a young girl, she became the sole breadwinner for her family when her father fell ill, working tirelessly to support her parents and siblings. At 22, she married Octaviano Rodriguez, adopting and raising his five children as her own, and together they had three more children. Her faith has been a cornerstone of her life, guiding her and her family through missionary work and community service.

Sadly, Grandma Fina's health has declined significantly. She has been unable to walk since 2017 and requires round-the-clock care, which my mom, Ruth, has lovingly provided, including tube feedings and all her personal needs. After battling frequent illnesses and chronic conditions, she was released from the hospital back home into hospice care on June 19, 2024. This has taken an incredible emotional and financial toll on our family.

In addition to the medical expenses, we are faced with the daunting and emotional task of planning her memorial and funeral. The anticipated costs are significant, and we want to provide Grandma Fina with the dignified farewell she deserves. She has been a matriarch in the truest sense, supporting and loving countless people throughout her life and acting as a surrogate mother to many. Now, we hope and pray that they can be there for her in this time of need.
