On Saturday August 24 early am my daughter's partner Aaron was at work driving his security car doing his rounds in Victoria B.C. within 20 minutes of starting his shift he was horrifically hit by a drunk driver. Aaron was left with a number of debilitating injuries and severe pain. In addition to the physical harm, Aaron's has been deeply wounded by the trauma of the accident .
Physically, he has been left with a broken ankle, severe whiplash, lacerations, bruising and muscle damage. The emotion impact of the accident is still being determined but Aaron is suffering from flashbacks and severe PTSD; this is affecting his ability to sleep and recover.
Aaron has been ordered off work for a minimum of six weeks to begin with but he will have to meet the physical requirements before returning. That will depend upon his recovery.
Unable to work, waiting for ICBC or possibly worksafe, unable to access EI until decisions have been determined, Aaron's financial situation is making recovery near impossible.
For example, one item that will need to be replaced from the accident was Aaron's glasses. Until responsibility is assumed by either ICBC or Worksafe, Aaron is left using the pair he was wearing during the accident. Upon impact, his glasses shot off of his face and flew from the car as it was crunching around him. Although they are covered in scratches, off kilter and slightly bent, they are considered "functional". Our hope is that donations through this campaign will help him pay for a new pair.
The total of this go fund me is set to cover rent for at least two months, his car payment, insurance payments, utilities, bills and food. In addition, it would cover other expenses as a result of the accident such as a new pair of glasses and hiring a short term dog walker for his pooch.
All donations to this gofundme will be going entirely to Aaron and his Partner for their bills and his care.
All donations are greatly appreciated but please do not feel obligated to donate! If you are unable to support Aaron's cause financially yet feel compelled to help, please share this gofundme on your social media. The effect of a social networking is enormous and if ever there has been a need to tap into the heart of the community, this is it.
Thank you so much for your support
