Hello hoomans!
My name is Abba and I'm 8 years young. I used to live in Bosnia where I was kept in tiny, dirty, smelly conditions and used to make puppies for other people. Because I didn't have much room to move around, my back legs aren't strong and I'm a bit chubby.
4 months ago the best thing ever happened - I was adopted by my new family and brought to England for my second chance. I never thought I would be so lucky! I now have a warm bed, nice (low-fat) dinners every night and lots of strokes (apparently I've got beautiful floofs). I am told that I am such a gentle, old soul and such a well behaved lady. This makes me do a smile.
A few weeks ago I was out doing my new favourite thing – WALKIES. I suddenly felt a terrible pain in my back leg and had to limp home (ever seen Homeward Bound?). My family took me to the vet but it was so hard for me to get in and out of the car – in the end I was winched out in a sling by 3 strong hoomans from the vets. Apparently I have ruptured my cruciate ligament, but I don’t know what that means (I didn’t even know I had a cruciate), I just know it hurts.
My family are so heartbroken for me and they cry a lot. They told me it is so sad that I made so many beautiful puppies for other people, and that now I had a chance to enjoy my retirement my leg is playing up (stoopid leg).
Luckily the vets have a plan to fix my leg and my family has pet insurance, but it doesn’t cover the full amount for my operation. I was wondering if any of you kind hoomans can help me? I would do so many big tail wags and smiles for you.
