Aid John Marquis's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
Please consider making a donation to support medical and caregiver expenses for our friend, brother, father and husband John Marquis. John, a lifelong Danbury resident, is just 54 years old and facing terminal pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic Cancer is a particularly challenging and aggressive illness. Pancreatic cancer often remains undetected in its early stages, as symptoms may be subtle or non-specific. By the time it is diagnosed, it is frequently at an advanced stage, which significantly limits treatment options and lowers the chances of long-term survival. Unfortunately, John’s cancer was already at stage four when he was diagnosed less than 5 weeks ago. He has never failed to make light of any situation life has faced him with. John is the most easy-going, kind and trusting soul. After losing his first wife Linda to cancer in 2016, he found happiness again through his wife Vanessa. Together, they share six wonderful children: Alec, Andrew, Avery, Brianna, Jose and Damian. John is a carpenter by trade and he and Vanessa’s home is filled with pets, birds of all kinds…. hobbies like beekeeping and gardening…and love. It is unthinkable to imagine what Vanessa and the kids will have to undertake in the coming weeks as John undergoes chemotherapy at Memorial Sloane Kettering to slow the progression of his disease. It is also unthinkable to realize that John’s children may soon be without their father after the loss of their mother in 2016. John’s current wife Vanessa has been the glue holding everyone together during this uncertain and stressful time.
Vanessa has been unable to work since John’s diagnosis so that she can accompany him to treatments in NYC and begin the arduous process of getting financial affairs in order. John is not a candidate for surgery which unfortunately makes every step a palliative measure including chemotherapy.
We ask that you keep John and Vanessa, their children and the entire Marquis family in your prayers. Any donation you are able to make will go directly to Vanessa to support hotel costs while John is in treatment, medical expenses, medical equipment and care. We hope that some financial support will help John and Vanessa and ease their burden. No donation is too big or too small. Thank you in advance for reading about John’s story.
