Trailer for AIR's Bedroom Exhibit

Donation protected
All of our board members have been forever changed by addiction.  Some are recovered addicts.  Some have lost children to addiction.  Some have siblings that still struggle with the disease one day at a time.  These struggles have gifted us with an intense desire to help make a difference in the world of addiction.  Our organization, Addiction is Real, Inc., educates and encourages parents to be proactive in their mission to protect their children from the dangers of drugs, as well as how to intervene early if a substance use problem is suspected.

Over the last 8 months, we have been setting up our Hidden in Plain View exhibit at schools and events around St. Louis.  The exhibit showcases a teenage bedroom with over 70 items that should alert an adult to the fact that this teen is using alcohol and/or drugs.  Adults are given the opportunity to search the bedroom and see how many red flags they recognize.  Once they're finished, they are given the list of all 70 items, explaining why they are a red flag and how teens use them.

At this time Addiction is Real, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit funded solely via donations.  We have been transporting the exhibit in our Vice President's minivan (note: she has 4 children and has to take the car seats in and out of the car every time, as well as pack and unpack the van at her home before and after the event).

A recent feature on KSDK this weekend has led to an overwhelming amount of requests for the bedroom exhibit!

In order to serve all of the schools, hospitals, churches and other organizations that would like to educate parents through our exhibit, we need your help!

We  would like to raise enough funds to cover the purchase of a small 5 foot trailer and hitch.  This would cut our packing/unpacking time in half (because we would only have to unload/load once) and free up the minivan for the many other family activities that are calling it's name (can we say basketball, gymnastics, Cub Scouts and ninja training?!).

We would love to purchase a trailer in the next month.  Every donation, no matter how small, could help us get there!  Please help us to educate more people by transporting the exhibit more easily.  Thank you so much!
