March 27th, 2020 marks a tragic loss in our world of stroke survivors and their care partners. On that day, Alice McCormick suffered a massive heart attack that took her away from us way too soon.  She was a Philly girl, gave Michael Jordan wing span hugs, was a special ed teacher, had 5 children, danced on the original American Bandstand, and, even though with speech aphasia, had a flair for speaking out.  Aphasia is a communication disorder brought on by brain injury or stroke. Alice had her Stroke back in 2015 and rehabilitated her aphasia with strength and grace. She improved greatly with Mason at her side always encouraging her. But Alice was more than just a regular person. She evolved into a larger-than-life, statuesque, witty, brilliant, hilarious, generous woman. She joined some initially reluctant participants in 100 feet of plastic, water, Dr. Bronner's soap, a blow up ducky, and became a very satisfied customer.
