Ali’s new home
Happy Mother’s Day to a wonderful Mom!!
This too shall pass!! ❤️
From Ali:
I just wanted to share my crazy experience with everyone. I found a nice duplex in broken Arrow for my son and I to live in. I went there yesterday to view it. There was a lock box on the door. I had to login online, make an account, upload a picture of my ID and a selfie and answer all these questions to get the code to unlock the lock box to get the key to view the house. I absolutely loved the duplex and wanted to secure it right away. The guy told me I needed to send my money to him on Cash App and I told him I wasn’t comfortable doing that without a lease agreement first. He emailed me the lease agreement I signed it and emailed it back to him after that I sent in my money and thought that I would get the keys today. I was kind of skeptical at first but after I had to upload a picture of my ID and a selfie and answer all those questions just to get the key out of the lock box I thought for sure it wasn’t a scam. I had my whole car loaded with boxes of stuff to move in and I was waiting outside the duplex to get my key today. The guy was texting me and telling me he would be there soon to give me the key. He ended up never showing up and texting me and telling me he scammed me and sending me smiley faces and laughing about it. I am now out $2675 that I don’t think I can get back. I am going to try to file a dispute with my bank tomorrow. This is definitely a lesson learned. The police have no idea how he had access to the lock box to give me the key to view the house. The craziest part is last night after I viewed the house and decided I wanted it he told me to keep the key from the lock box and I could just start moving in immediately. Well I had already left and put the key back in the lock box and when I went there today the code that I used yesterday wasn’t working. So if I would’ve kept the key yesterday, I would’ve been moving all my stuff into the duplex thinking I was going to live there when I wasn’t even talking to the right person that owns it. This all sucks so bad. I was just trying to get my son and I a nice place to live. I just wanted to share my story so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Before you do anything make sure you meet with them in person first. Please pray that my bank lets me file this dispute and get my money back.
