Amanda passed away July 6, 2024 in Mexico post surgery for liver cancer. Please help her family give her a proper home going. 

EMERGENT UPDATE:

Amanda Brooke is currently four days post-operation. Her surgery went well, and 55% of her liver was removed. Unfortunately, she is responding slowly to medical treatments, and all funds have been exhausted. She is fighting for her life and needs ample time to recover, but the hospital is willing to discharge her in this condition unless we can provide them with USD 600 per day in the hospital. She has just undergone major surgery and has not received clearance from her doctor to travel. Her biggest obstacle is the risk of infection. She has to remain in a sterile medical facility to mitigate this risk and improve her chances of waking up. If she is moved home or to a lesser-quality clinic without the proper medical equipment, the consequences could be fatal. Please find it in your heart to donate, as this is Amanda Brooke's last chance to beat her Stage IV liver cancer.

Amanda Brooke's Story

Amanda Brooke Herrera is my niece, and she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Brooke is a vivacious 35 year old wife & mother of 2 young boys, Donovan (15) and Israel (9). Brooke raised them basically as a single mother...until she married Martin Herrera. Martin has stepped up to the plate being her rock and biggest advocate for her and the boys. My heart breaks as she just found the love of her life, and now this heartbreaking diagnosis. Brooke has fought many wars as a domestic abuse survivor, childhood trauma survivor, & colon cancer survivor. Through all of her unspeakable traumas, Brooke remains strong in her faith. An amazing Mother, Wife, Sister, Niece, & Friend needs her village. This is her journey:

Brooke lost 60 lbs without explanation. She struggled with nausea, vomiting and stomach pain for over a year. Doctors did not seem to take her seriously, until Brooke found a fantastic provider willing to find the source of her pain. The diagnosis was Colorectal Cancer and surgery was scheduled immediately. After removing several malignant tumors, the Oncologist recommended at least 1 round of Chemo. After all was said and done, Brooke endured 12 rounds of Chemo. Post treatment scans showed her newest diagnosis of STAGE 4 LIVER CANCER. This particular Cancer is super aggressive and has metastasized throughout her liver, ALL WHILE RECEIVING 12 ROUNDS OF CHEMOTHERAPY! Brooke's treatment options are slim and outrageously expensive.

Giving up is not an option.

The plan is to seek alternative treatments in the US and Mexico, if funds allow. We are aware there is no cure, but our hope is to prolong her quality life. Every cent will be spent on alternative treatment options, and quality time with her loved ones.

During Brooke's Colorectal Cancer fight, her Father/my brother, was diagnosed with Stage 4 inoperable Rectal Cancer. He died 11/6/22, only 8 weeks after diagnosis.

Please help me spread the word and raise money for Brooke. The bills are drowning them leaving no extra money for anything.

Brooke has not asked anyone for help. Please help me change the narrative for this young family.

My wish is to provide her the opportunity to have a fun summer with her family. The dream would be raising enough funds to receive alternative treatments.
