Amanda Wisinski Education & Therapy Fund

Hello family and friends, it is with deep sadness and heavy heart that I share with you the shocking and untimely passing of my beloved brother, Steve Wisinski. He was a vibrant, active, fun, hard-working, intelligent, kind and caring man taken too soon.

Steve was a devoted husband to his wife Lucy and father to their 10-year-old daughter Amanda. Amanda is a beautiful, sweet, silly little girl. She has autism and is non-verbal, which means she communicates in ways different from you and me. Amanda and Steve had an extraordinary bond, were inseparable and were able to find their own ways to share their love for one another. Within 24 hours of his passing, Amanda found a short cartoon online titled "I miss you Daddy" and plays it repeatedly for him. Also, whenever she thinks of her daddy or misses him, she places her hand on her heart to let him and us know she is sad. His dedication and affection for his wife and precious daughter lit up every room he was in.

Steve always wanted to be a father and worked incredibly hard as his family's sole provider and offered all the love, protection, and security he could give. Steve and Lucy proudly bought their first home in Arlington Heights in 2018. They chose this home because it resides in one of the best school districts in Illinois with specialized educational needs. In this home, Lucy has been a devoted stay-at-home mom who works a few hours at the elementary school when not busy caring for their daughter Amanda.

Leaving Lucy and Amanda behind is devasting for us to comprehend, as tragically, they have lost all income and insurance at the time of Steve’s passing. Lucy will need so much help as a single mother of a child with special needs in finding additional care, ongoing therapy, education, and all necessities.

I am at a loss for words and don’t know how to ask for help, but if you would like to contribute to help support his daughter's short and long-term needs, anything helps, even by sharing. Your generous heart and continued thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated as Lucy grieves the loss of her husband, her best friend, and Amanda grapples to understand a world without her hero and beloved daddy.
