At The End Of The Day She's Still Your Mother

Having been given £1k from Unity Theatre in Liverpool for 2 days development on my new play, I applied to the Arts Council for £15k to do 2 weeks of development. I sadly lost my 100% successful Arts Council funding streak and had the bid turned down twice due to 'lack of funds'.
I'm now trying to raise £2k to support 4/5 days of development culminating in a sharing. This will pay for the wages of two actors, a director and a dramaturg as well as mental health support for everyone involved and a Domestic Violence specialist to support the sharing and Q+A.
The play is about an estranged mother and daughter who meet in a cancer clinic and are forced to confront their own and each other's mortality. It's a dark, funny, sympathetic look at mother and daughter relationships and dysfunctional families.
After the development I would love to take this play out to places where women talk about their lives - bingo halls, craft groups, choirs, rape crisis centres, refuges, prisons. I would like for this play to support difficult conversations between women in families particularly about how trauma is passed down through generations.
