Marley's Journey to walk- 2 feet on the ground

Donation protected
Our daughter Marley was born with multiple rare leg deformities. Tibia Hemimelia and fibular Hemimelia. Tibia Hememelia is one in a million fibular Hemimelia is one and 50,000. Our only option here in Canada was to amputate her leg so we seeked out Dr. Dror Paley at the Paley Institute in West Palm Beach Florida. Dr. Paley stated that he could re-construct her legs. We were able to get the procedures covered through OHIP and we spent eight months in West Palm Beach with Marley having multiple surgeries correcting both her legs so she could walk on her own in 2018.  Marley’s had to do intense Physiotherapy for almost 2 years to be able to walk. She can now walk, run etc... We continue to fly back-and-forth to Florida for follow ups to make sure everything is on track after the 8 months stay over the past several years. Due to Marley having these conditions her one leg does not grow as fast as the other. She now requires leg lengthening so she’s able to have both feet on the ground. If not corrected it can affect her hips and joints. We will be applying for OHIP to cover the cost of the surgeries but due to having to be off work for four months,  paying for housing in both country's, travel etc we are trying to raise money that comes with completing out of country surgeries. Any help is beneficial and we thank you!
