Baby Leroy Stiffler made his appearance a bit early at 32 weeks due to complications. Brittany and Jackson were life-flighted from Kalispell Regional Hospital to Seattle due to complications found while doing an ultrasound. He was delivered by emergency C-section on August 9, 2017 at UW Medical Center and immediately transfered to Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Leroy's arteries have what the Doctors believe is a calcification build-up. This is causing Leroy’s heart to work significantly harder than it would normally and also is causing him to have extreme swelling, among other symptoms.
This is an extremely rare diagnosis (Aprox 1 in 300,000) and there are no simple resolutions to his condition. Seattle Children's Hospital Doctors are working with several other specialists around the country to determine the best plan of action for Leroy.
Brittany and Jackson are looking at a minimum of a 3 month stay here with Leroy in Seattle, leaving them both unable to work and earn income. They will have travel, lodging & meal expenses as well as the medical expenses that are not covered by insurance.
Leroy has a CaringBridge page that will have ongoing updates at
