Baby Needs You-Bobbi and the Strays

This is Baby.  She is a ten year old Corgi mix.  Her owner recently surrended her to Bobbi and the Strays in Freeport, NY.  Why?  Her owner basically did not want to take care of her anymore.  Unfortunately, this is a story that we hear all too often now a days.  Baby was never taken cared of.  In addition to being neglected all of her life, she also never received any medical care.  Upon surrender when we attemtped to lift Baby she yelped in pain.  It was then that we discovered that Baby also had mammory tumors, a condition her owner was aware of but did not disclose.  

On Friday, November 3, Baby underwent surgery to remove those tumors.  We are all hoping that she will be OK.  The kind of person that can toss a dog or any other pet aside when they need us the most makes us lose faith in humankind. 

With so many animals in our care, we are looking for donations to pay for her surgery and a biopsy of her tumors.  It breaks our hearts to think what might have happened to her if we did not step in and agree to help her.  

When Baby recovers and heals from her surgery, we will find her a home that appreciates her sweetness and where she will live out her remaining years with kindness and love.
