<div>I’m starting this fundraiser for my boyfriend’s family, who have been going through an incredibly difficult time. His stepmom, who has been like a second mother to me, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Her treatments have been long, exhausting, and extremely expensive.

<div>On top of that, his dad recently lost his job of 10 years due to government funding cuts, leaving them in a really tough financial situation. With medical bills piling up and now the unexpected cost of having to move, they are struggling more than ever.

<div><span>This family has been nothing but loving and generous to me since my boyfriend and I started dating two years ago. After losing my own mom to cancer when I was 10, I never expected to find a second family, but they welcomed me with open arms. They gave me a house key, invited me on family vacations, and always made sure I felt at home. His stepmom would cook for me all the time, his dad helped me file my taxes, and I’ve been a part of every family gathering; including the one in this picture from Lunar New Year.</span><br />

<div>Now, I want to give back. I haven’t told them about this fundraiser yet, I want it to be a surprise; but I know it would mean the world to them. My boyfriend does not know about this as I have blocked him and his family from my social media stories. After the fundraiser, I will put every single donors name on a card so they know how many people took the time to make their lives a little easier.
