Blue Cross Vets Fundraiser

Hi there, i’m Zen! Im 25 years old who has always been brought up around cats and dogs since i was young, i have a huge heart for all animals and if i can help in any way i will always put my all into doing so. I have set up this GoFundMe to help and support Blue Cross in what they do, I live local to the Grimsby Vets. Everything i raise is all going direct to Blue Cross.

Blue Cross has helped to save both of my boys (cats) and in them doing so it also saved me and helped me with my mental health. My personal stories can be found below.

Gizmo (left) / Ozzie (right)
Gizmo - when Gizmo, was 8 weeks old someone was selling him on marketplace for £20, id not long since lost my dog and was living on my own in a big house and needed the company to keep me sane! With gizmo being cheap i knew something wasn’t right whether he was poorly or mistreated. After a 2 weeks of collecting him.. i noticed a large lump on his stomach, of course i got him registered at blue cross and made an appointment for a checkup in which the appointment was 1 and half months later, i explained about the lump but he was fine in himself the vets advised me if something changes ring straight back, couple of nights later i noticed the lump became see through and you could see the inside of him, i immediately rang the vets and was told to bring him down straight away this was around 9pm, soon as we got there he was seen and was told it was a umbilical hernia and needed to be admitted so we was sent home the next morning the vets rang and said Gizmo is going for surgery at 10.30am - mid way of Gizmo’s surgery the vet rang and said he is having his operation now, but we have a few concerns so i explained the above as to how i got him etc.. and they said so.. he also has broken ribs, diaphragm hernia and his lungs was in his chest.. we think he may have been ran over as a newborn kitten and he does only have a 2% survival chance. I cried instantly and said please just save my boy! She said we will do all that we can. As the hours past at around 8pm at night the same day the vets rang and said “is that Gizmo’s mum” i said yeah it is, oh no is it bad news” and she said so surgery all went well and he is recovering although he is a flirt, our male out of hours vet has gone to meet him and give him a fuss and gizmo was having none of it so we sent in a female and hes been showing off his bum, affection and loves his treats! She also asked which food he has in which he was just eating kitten wet food, she said weve tried that and he wont eat it so weve sent a staff member across to the supermarket to get him a fish, weve cooked it and cooled it now he is happy stuffing his face.. i offered to reimburse and they said oh no we just want to do our best! A week later Gizmo was discharged when i collected him and signed the paperwork on discharge his operation, admission, food etc came to over £2,000 im which they asked for nothing! Gizmo was a very naughty but happy cat, except last November he was hit by a car and killed but again blue cross has saved my boys in the times of need and i couldn’t be happier.

Ozzie -
When Ozzie was a kitten he had his vaccinations as normal at Blue Cross.. came home fine, within 25 minutes of being at home he kept having a seziure i phoned blue cross and was advised to come in ASAP, in which i did.. when i got their the vets was jam packed.. their was a vet nurse stood in the queue asking for Ozzie, i was nervous and didnt want to step forward as the wan got closer she asked if its a cat.. i said yes Ozzie i was told to bring him in for having a seziure after his vaccinations.. she took Ozzie straight to reception and said “here” immediately an alarm went off and inside the vets was dark and flashing red to alert emergency! We was rushed to a room in which 15 minutes of being seen he was sent home with treats and back to his normal happy self.

Ozzie is now 5 and in good health
