Boob Runs Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Our kick-arse friend, Louise, is mum to four-year-old Charlie, a former medic in the army, a dental hygienist and fitness fanatic. In September 2021, Lou was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Since the removal of the tumour and her lymph node, she’s been enduring fortnightly chemotherapy sessions and begins radiotherapy in April to finally send it on its merry little way.
Lou’s a single co-parent and also self-employed and because going from a global pandemic into cancer treatment has been hard to say the least, we’ve decided to set up a fundraiser in order to not only help Lou out, but also to raise money for the Sussex Cancer Centre where Lou receives her treatments.
Starting next week Lou’s friends will begin running and walking (some of them crawling, probably) the streets to raise money for Lou and the Cancer Centre (20% of everything raised will be donated). We’ve decided to run routes in the shape of boobs (pun very much intended). So, if you’d like to pledge a donation to our cause, we’d love for you to join in. Simply plot out your route on Strava and be as inventive as you like. The saggier, the better (and no, we’ve no idea how we’re going to add the nipples either, but it’s probably going to be quite fun running around in tight circles trying).
Not all of Lou’s family know about her cancer, so we’re asking that you don’t tag Lou in any Facebook posts directly. If you want to share your efforts, please tag Lou’s friend Nuria (@nurialves_nunu on Instagram), and we’ll make sure she sees.
Lou is one of the good ones. She’s one of the best friends out there, and there’s nothing she won’t do for her son and family. If you’ll excuse our French, it’s really sh*t that this has happened to her. Any support you can give to help lighten the mental load for her so that she can just focus on kicking cancer’s arse, will be very gratefully received. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
