Extra Security for Youth & Family Halloween Event
Donation protected
TransFamily Support Services is hosting its first-ever, free Boo Bash to unite trans youth, their families, and its supportive community partners -- local businesses, charitable organizations, medical providers, and even city and county representatives.
Our #1 priority is always to ensure the safety of our community. For this family friendly event, we especially want all participants to enjoy a worry-free celebration.
Given the polarizing rhetoric and some specific abhorrent behavior toward our community, it is necessary for TransFamily Support Services to raise $15,000 to increase its security presence at this daytime family gathering.
While it is unfortunate that our intention of bringing young people and their families together for a fun day of connection has aggravated a few hateful but loud fringe voices, we will always put the health and safety of our community at the center of our work. This is why we were founded.
To do this, we need your help today! We need to implement unexpected and enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of all Boo Bash guests and staff.
But the added cost of this extra security is not in our modest nonprofit budget. And paying for security prevents us from providing the free services our community needs, especially other life-saving resources we offer to families across the country every day of the year.
Please donate today to help advance our mission of uniting trans youth and their families with a supportive and vibrant community. We’ll need $15,000 to cover the appropriate amount of security personnel, physical screening, and other protective resources to enjoy a carefree day of costume-wearing, candy-eating, and connection. As the hateful rhetoric grows, leftover funds from this campaign will be utilized in an ongoing manner to protect staff and clients with added security measures.
Most of all, keep supporting your trans loved ones. We’ll continue to do our part to make this world a safer and more loving space for our community - this Halloween and always.
