We Need Your Help to Save Our Boy

About two-weeks ago our 10 year-old weimaraner, Brutus, started acting a little funny. An absolute food lover (calling him food-obsessed does not do him justice), he suddenly had no interest in it. His eyes were drooping and sick looking, and he was drooling quite a bit. We waited a few days to see if he got better, he didn't. After taking him to the vet, we decided he had a parasite. After 4 days on antibiotics, there was no change in his behavior. Not a parasite. At our second vet appointment, they ran a gamut of tests and still came up with nothing.
Today, 1/28/15, he was taken in for an ultrasound. The vet found that Brutus has some how swallowed a needle or nail, she isn't suite sure what it is, and it is moving through his intestines like a saw, tearing him right down the middle as it moves through his body. Sam, Bru's dad, is faced with the horrendous decision of spending $6,000 on surgery or putting him down. This is hardest decision of Sam's life, and we're looking for some help in funding Bru's surgery.
Sam has had Bru since the day he was born. They raised Bru's mother and the litter of baby weims she had, and Bru has stuck by Sam's side for 10 solid years. He is our baby and life could never be the same without him. For all dog lovers out there who have had to make this kind of decision, or for those who can't even fathom making this kind of decision, please consider donating. Any little bit helps.
