Urgent assistant to asylum-seeking family in San Diego – The Tejeda Family

The Tejeda parents, Gary and Karina, made the difficult choice of leaving their home country of Peru with their four children after they faced repression for speaking out against their government. Without knowing anyone in the United States, they left everything behind escaping political persecution and now are applying for asylum. During this process, they don’t have a work permit yet and are unable to secure permanent employment.

The Tejeda family has decided to settle in San Diego. They have found odd jobs cleaning homes, but this doesn’t earn them enough to cover food, rent, and attorney fees.
