El Camino de Santiago to raise funds for the Dr. Jean M Cameron Foundation
(from Estelle Cameron and Heather Maclean)
Sept. 24th 2018
We are walking the Camino, The Way of Saint James, raising funds to initiate a foundation in memory of my sister, Jeanie.
Jeanie, Dr. Jean M Cameron, practised family medicine in Antigonish, Nova Scotia until her untimely death at age 57, September 11, 2016.
Jeanie’s life changed completely February 9, 1995. During her office hours that day she was physically assaulted by a distressed psychiatric patient. This incident resulted in a lifelong struggle both physically and mentally.
There but for the grace of God.........
The Dr. Jean M Cameron Foundation funding will be used to Support chronic brain trauma and PTSD Initiatives.
The Chambered Nautilus (Last verse) BY Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
… Through the deep caves of thought I hear a voice that sings:—
Build thee more stately mansions, O my soul,
As the swift seasons roll!
Leave thy low-vaulted past!
Let each new temple, nobler than the last,
Shut thee from heaven with a dome more vast,
Till thou at length art free,
Leaving thine outgrown shell by life’s unresting sea!
