Chris Gieseke's mother's funeral and legal fund

Hi, this is Chris Gieseke, Gloria Gieseke's son. As most of you already know, my mother, Gloria Gieseke, the amazing matriarch of our family, passed away peacefully due to complications from a heart attack, at the age of 82. I gave up my career opportunities and dreams to take care of my father (who passed away two years ago) and then later my mother for a total of 12 years of extremely difficult but rewarding caregiving. As a result I have no savings and must go through a lengthy probate process to access my parents bank accounts and other finances that may take 3 months or more due to an error in my parents will. I have one older brother in Massachusetts but he is very poor and disabled living off of disability checks.

Those of you who have known me for a very long time, know that I have never in my life EVER asked for financial assistance from anyone. But I have helped many of you in your time of need. Now it is my time of need and I have had to swallow my pride to now ask for all of you for your help to assist me in paying for my mother's funeral expenses as well as costly attorney fees (to do the estate probate process), the utility fees for my house, and most importantly for my brother's mortgage payments on his house that was under my Mother's name. That way the banks do not foreclose on his house. I am also responsible for paying the property taxes on both homes until the estate probate process is finished.

As such, my grief has quickly turned into absolute terror at my financial situation and the possibility of both myself and my brother becoming homeless. I am already looking for jobs but must first deal with all of the legal matters. Today my horror turned into a nightmare as the credit card I was going to use to pay for my mother's funeral was declined as it was my mother's card but with my name on the account as well. With that card frozen, I now have no credit card safety net. I can not call my mother's bank (which is also my own) because they will freeze the account if they haven't already. I have no way of knowing if it's frozen or not. So unless I get funds to bury my mother soon she will have a pauper's cremation weeks from now and I will not be able to say my last goodbyes as she will be too decayed at that point. That is why this fundraiser is only a week long as it is extremely urgent. My mother's body is currently at Castle Ridge Mortuary at 8008 Military Dr W, San Antonio, TX 78227. Her cremation costs amount to $2,402.

*UPDATE- I have my paid for my mother's cremation, however I had to use my emergency cash reserves along with some paypal donations which leaves me without about $400 in my bank account until this fundraiser gets deposited into my account. My legal expenses however will be far more. I also have to pay all the utilities on this house, property taxes, and my brother's mortgage until the probate period is complete. Even then my parents did not have a large savings so I will need to start working quickly once the probate period is done and the inheritance is divided with my brother. This fund will allow me a little bit of breathing room as I restart my life again. So anyone who can donate to this fund, you have my absolute eternal gratitude and love.
