Clean water access for Anapalu Village, Indonesia
Tax deductible
"Everybody including my parents and neighbor said I was lazy. People around me said that I refuse too much. If the village elders tell me to get water, I would not want to get water because it is located 3-5 miles away in the mountain. Why do I have no right to choose? It’s far, tiring and it hurts. I just want to play. I wish water is so near that I can play without being asked to get water." - Initial A, 9 years old
Anapalu Village, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia:
Every day, villagers of Anapalu have to walk with heavy jerry cans full of water to just survive.
These villagers have been living without nearby access to safe water and walk over 1.5 miles to a cave to fill up jerry cans with water. They do this trip multiple times a day.
Not only that their journey to the cave is dangerous, but the water they got contains mineral substances such as Calcium that exceed the safe consumption limit.
Solar Chapter will provide water access to Anapalu Village in August 2020:
It is a water access system powered by solar energy. Solar panels, reservoirs, and water pumps will be implemented in the village. Designed by engineers across the nation, this water system will distribute water around 1.5 miles from the water source to the village.
We, Solar Chapter, are committed to finish this water project in Anapalu village. Visit our website at solarchapter.com for more information. Email us at [email redacted] for proposal inquiries. Help us help them!
