Raising Awareness of Child Exploitation–One Step Forward at a Time
Target Date: June 23, 2024

MOUNT KILIMANJARO SUMMIT ATTEMPT
Mission: My name is Grace Driscoll, and I am a high school student in Northern Virginia on a mission to bring awareness to the largest possible audience about the pervasive and growing global threats posed to children by online sexual enticement, production and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), child sex trafficking, and sextortion. I will increase this awareness by traveling to the African continent and climbing its highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. Every step I take will be dedicated to bringing hope to the victim children so much less fortunate than me.

Execution: I will achieve my goal of raising at least $10,000 USD to donate to two charitable organizations that make a significant and tangible impact in the fight against child exploitation. This expedition is self-funded, allowing 100% of your contributions to be directly distributed to the following honorable charities. Those organizations, and details of distribution of your selfless donations are detailed below.

National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
NCMEC is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization. NCMEC works with families, victims, private industry, law enforcement, and the public to assist with preventing child abductions, recovering missing children, and providing services to deter and combat child sexual exploitation. (www.missingkids.org)

NCMEC will receive 80% of all raised proceeds.

FBI Hostage Rescue Team Association (HRTA)
The FBI’s elite counterterrorism element, the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), is the US federal government’s response capability to address the most egregious and violent crises. HRT is made up of a collective of selected complex problem solvers forged through diverse experience, sustained by a culture of creativity, shared success and mutual support, purpose driven to win. HRT’s mission is to solve complex, asymmetrical, unpredictable problems in a time-compressed environment prioritizing crisis response, hostage rescue, presidential directives, and integrated deterrence through national program management over all FBI SWAT teams. Their purpose is indelibly inscribed on their emblem, “Servare Vitas,” - To Save Lives. Lives including the exploited children to whom this expedition is dedicated.

The HRTA is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to support HRT operators and their families in times of dire need, such as serious injury and death, which is unfortunately a very real consequence of the sacrificial service they humbly and quietly provide to the American people. HRTA will receive 20% of all raised proceeds.
