Coach Allard Killingly High School Athletics Fund

Our beloved father, Norman Allard, Joe, or Coach, as he was affectionately known, passed peacefully in the comfort of his home Monday, April 20, 2020. He leaves a legacy of love and devotion to his family, friends, and community. To know him was to love him and everywhere he traveled he left a lasting impression with his radiant smile and friendly, talkative manner. He lived life to its fullest which afforded him many stories, to tell anyone willing to lend an ear. Many of these stories included the glory days of sports, fraternity life in college, hitchhiking from Connecticut to California, Army training, family life, especially his grandchildren, traveling throughout the United States and Europe, and hunting for antiques throughout the Northeast. As you read this I'm certain you recall a story or two worth remembering.
He lived a blessed life but not one without tremendous loss or sorrow. In his later years, it was his strong faith that allowed him to continue to pursue new stories to tell despite having lost his beloved wife, Ann and daughter, Linda.
One thing that remained constant throughout his life was his love for and devotion to his hometown. He epitomized a small town America success story. In high school he was senior class president, captain of the football team, voted best looking and best dancer, and graduating from UConn made him the second member of his family to earn a college education. His graduate studies took him to URI and Christian Brothers College in Memphis.
He excelled in football at the high school and collegiate levels garnering many awards, among them an induction into the Killingly High School Hall of Fame. His love of football is the common thread that runs through our family . In Dad's spirit of doing the right thing we feel it is fitting we give back to his community, specifically the Killingly High School Athletic Program with the intention of supporting the football program. Given the current climate and our inability to gather as a community to say goodbye this feels right. Money collected will be donated in his name to the Killingly High School Athletic Program.
On behalf of the Norman 'Joe' Allard family we thank you for your support. #22
