College Assistive Technology for Christopher
Donation protected
Christopher Suplice is a BCLA 2020 high school graduate who was Vice President of student government and a member of the National Honors Society. He lost his vision as a teenager from Lebers Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. He was granted a Visa to travel to the US alone in 2016 and he began attending high school in Boston where his hope to continue his education came to fruition as he learned to use assistive technology to access the curriculum and succeed in courses such as computer science, physics, advanced calculus, and advanced English language. He will be studying computer science at Northeastern University this Fall with a full tuition scholarship.
Christopher is still in need of technology to be able to successfully access the curriculum at college because he is not allowed to keep public school technology beyond the 12th grade as it will go to other students still in the district. He will need an accessible large screen laptop with speech and magnification software as well as a portable near-distance closed circuit television (CCTV) to magnify work close up as well as to view distance information (like from a white board or chalk board). His parents in Haiti cannot afford the costs of this technology which is up to and beyond $6K. Please consider a donation to Christopher's College Assistive Technology fund. Thank you!
