My life changed on August 3rd 2016. I was fine one minute then gone the next. Before I passed out & stopped breathing I felt like I was drowning which I guess I was. My lungs filled up with fluid & I stopped breathing. I am thankful my husband & daughter where home or I wouldn't be here today,. It took the EMTs over two hours to save my life. I was taken by ambulance to a field to be airlifted & I crashed again. They worked on me for about an hour in the field, then I was airlifted to Dartmouth hospital. I spent over 2 weeks there. I was told I had AFIB, COPD. PAD, PAV, congestive heart failure, kidney issues the list goes on & on. I had multiple heart attacks. My arteries are clogged in my legs so I can only walk to the kitchen or dining room without loosing my breathe or my legs give out. I spend at least 20 hours a day in bed.. I have been admitted to the hospital at least every month in the beginning of my medical issues. I spent more time in the hospital in the last 5 years then at home. I would love to have a scooter so I can go shopping or just get around the house. I went from being a healthy woman to a shell of myself. I haven't been out of my house in over 4 years except by ambulance. My husband works very hard but times are tough. My medical bills are so high it would take more than a lifetime to pay. I want to be able to spend time with my Grandchildren. I have a wonderful family & friends who take care of me. I want to be able to go for a ride & see all the things I am missing. I can't go anywhere now because I am on oxygen 24 hours a day. The tanks are so big & heavy. The tanks are also dangerous to transport in any car or truck. They will only last an hour & a half. I have a Doctor's prescription for a portable oxygen machine but it isn't covered by insurance :( I now have an O2 portable thanks to my many family & friends. I am not the type of person who asks for help but I want my life back. Any help would be appreciated. My life expectancy may be 10 years if I'm lucky. Here's hoping I live longer than 10 years.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please send positive thoughts.
