Help Getting Back Up

Hello Friends and Family,

The last 4 months have been a real beat down due to a string setbacks. I lost my job in October right before having all three kids for Christmas. I was scammed out of $1500 online that the bank made me responsible for; and there were several other monetary obligations all hitting at one time. This was just the beginning of a series of life events that have led us to this point, one thing after the other. We are really down on our luck.

We struggled to pay rent these last 4 months but made it happen. I finally got a substituting job at the end of last month which doesn’t pay much and have interviewed for several full time certified teaching jobs.

The day I started back working, our landlord gave us 30 days notice out of no where to move out because he wants to sell the house we’ve been living in for the last 2 years. We also couldn’t afford to pay rent on the 1st because we’ve been trying to apply for apartments which cost anywhere from $75-$200. We don’t have any money to pay our bills. March 13th, our landlord filed an eviction and is suing us for March rent which was due the 1st. We have no savings for a deposit or first month’s rent to even get a place if we can even get approved. I have court next Wednesday (a week’s notice) and we now are facing homelessness. Due to struggles in the past we unfortunately both have bad credit and now delinquent bills and you cannot do anything in life just to survive without good credit. We are having trouble finding a place to give us a chance and just wasting money we don’t have on application fees.

We were trying desperately to get back on our feet. Gregg has been working so hard with his full time job and the bike shop business we started. Right when we felt the wheels were turning back in our favor, we were hit with a 30 day notice to find a new place and then two weeks later an eviction notice which will make it pretty much impossible to find a new place to rent.

I will be 40 years old this year with a master’s degree and three kids. I am embarrassed to be putting this out into the world but today, I’m putting down my pride, in the last 5 minutes of the game, because we are so very desperate and don’t know what else to do.

If you can help, we would be forever grateful. If you cannot, we understand that 100%, your prayers and emotional support help just as much. We just really don’t know what else to do. We have tapped out all resources and the government assistant programs have waiting lists. I have posted things for sale, but that is going to take time that we don’t have.

Any amount will help or if you are in a position to help us with a temporary place to stay (Gregg, the dog, and I ) or know of anyone willing to give us a chance, we would be forever grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
