Disabled Senior (double leg amputee) & Great-Gpa

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Miranda and I am here to request help on behalf of my grandfather who is a double leg amputee and has been since the early 2000s.

He is the world to me and it breaks my heart not being able to provide the things he needs. His support system is very limited which is why I'm here asking for help. He has gone above and beyond for not only me, but my family. He has bonded with my husband, something i never expected to see him do. He has helped my boys educationally and emotionally. He is the only real father I had growing up.
Below is an amazon list & venmo, in case you dont feel comfortable donating thrive this platform. The amazon list will directly ship to our address for him. Some of them are very necessary and others are of low priority but will still help his overall quality/daily life. I provided an estimated number based on the items he needs.

We have tried going through insurance for a few of the items as well… but they have so many hoops to jump through and they are not set up for people who are disabled to his degree.
- Insurance involves several steps such as: making appointments, faxing papers, talking to several different parties just to get it approved. If something isn't done precisely correctly.
Our claim is then denied, needing us to start over.
For example - we need a new bed, new scooter, shower chair & shower head filter.
The bed has to wait and can't be requested at the same time, supposedly.
The new scooter is only approved every 5 years. However,

Things we are collecting for Grandpa Richard Jamison
The things he desperately needs are:

1. New Scooter (insurance will only approve a new one every 5 years)
This is not feasible for his situation. He uses his scooter 24/7. The only time he doesn't is bathroom and bedtime.
He keeps getting stuck in pot holes and on curbs when trying to cross the road. Posing a severe safety risk. We have found an alternative scooter that has a higher clearance. His current scooter has already been maintenance more than 6 times and the battery wont keep. They still wont approve a new one. Even though maintence has exceeded a new scooter.

2. Medical Bed with Guard rails as he is falling out of bed or a smaller bed with kid rails (cheaper).
3. Shower Chair for shower
He hasn’t taken a proper bath in over a year or longer from what I found out due to a broken shower chair & very nasty water. Hence the reason for item #4
4. Sink & shower filter for his apartment.
5. Activities to help his depression

Forgive me if I get repetitive as I try to give more information on his situation and who he is..

In the early 2000's, my grandfather was driving a Semi. One of his trips resulted in severe injuries as a load fell on top of him. I remember talking to him after he came out of the coma. He could barely speak and at times didn't remember me. This accident resulted in numerous health conditions over time as well as a leg amputee. Eventually, he had to have his other leg amputated down the road due to complications that arose later on.Due to this, my grandparents had to sell their family home and eventually their lives completely changed.
Fast forward to now, over the last year and a half, My Husband James and myself have taken on a lot of responsibility pertaining to my grandfather and being able to help him continue living independently. It was hard and we almost had to move him. He was going through cancer treatments for Liver Cancer that had metastasized from the colon. He had a section of that colon removed which left him with very unfortunate side effects.
We finally had an ablation of the tumor in February 2023. This left my grandfather in very poor health and we were not sure if he would come through. He was only 85 lbs., barely eating or drinking. He was forgetting everything. During this time, I became aware of things he was lacking and really needed in order to live a better life.
However, there is only so much my husband and I are able to give on our own with two kids under 5. So I am here, hoping and asking for help to provide the things we would love to give him. Some are very necessary for his hygiene and safety. Others will be helpful for his mental health.
Everything I am doing for him, is what I would hope any of us would be willing to do for a parent whom we love and appreciate.
My kids know their Gigi very well. One is named after him and one can’t go more than a few days without seeing him. He has helped both my boys educationally and has helped teach my husband and I how to budget. He gives us advice and is there for us. My kids know as much as they can and love being able to help. I am hoping this fundraiser will help us do just a little more than we have already.
However, we have hit a road block.
Request-
My reason for this page is to request help for my grandpa. Even a small donation like $5-10 will make a difference in this situation.

Why does he need help?
He desperately needs things to live a safer, cleaner, & healthier life. My husband and I have two young children and very little support to help. The world we are in now is very expensive and in order to help the elderly is not easy or cheap.

What's wrong? Does he get any help?
Yes, some. Hee is handicapped. He has no legs, several medical conditions and no money or support. The amount of SSD & Government help is not enough. Medical insurance has been a nightmare to get what we need approved.

Extra Information:
He is unaware of me trying to collect help for him, as he has never felt comfortable accepting help and I don't want to get his hopes up. I have recently become his POA and Health Care Proxy in case things should happen.
