Donate In Memory of Michael McIntyre

In January 2022, tragedy struck our family as our dad, Michael McIntyre, was rushed by ambulance to Providence Holy Cross Hospital with a severe case of COVID-19, made catastrophically worse by a rare lung disease. Mike was receiving treatment at UCLA for several years, until pandemic mandates interfered with the necessary chemotherapy regimen. Even though Mike was fully vaccinated, the absence of treatment put him in grave danger in the COVID climate. On January 8, Mike began a 14 day stay in isolation, fighting to stay off a ventilator. Unfortunately - his immunocompromised lungs failed, and he was intubated. The last words he spoke were "Praise Jesus". Mike then spent 62 days in the ICU, fully sedated, battling like a champion through extraordinary medical efforts. Tragically, on March 25th, he took his last breath with us and peacefully went home to the Lord. Mike leaves behind his wife, soulmate and best friend Cindy, and three devastated children, raised with grace, compassion, and a whole lot of unconditional love.

Our dad was an extraordinary man, person, partner, father and friend. After 30 successful years with Morgan Stanley, Mike was forced to start over as a small business owner, but was buried under the worsening economy in California. Yet he never gave up, working humbly and gratefully while continuing his volunteer efforts in ministry and recovery, and investing in his children’s lives at every opportunity. Michael always showed up - giving more than he took, serving beyond his means, and cooking a meal that filled your stomach and fed your soul. With dad gone, there will always be a piece missing, and a gap no one else can fill. Dad won't meet our future partners, walk us down the aisle, dance the father/daughter dance, or toast Austin and his bride. He won't meet our children, and sadly, our children won't meet him, BUT we will carry dad with us, living as he did, with integrity, courage, kindness and grace.

However, right now, we are fighting to stay afloat and are humbly asking for your help. Over the last decade, our family has suffered tremendous trauma, betrayal, loss and misfortune, culminating in dad's tragic and untimely death. Now facing extraordinary hardship, medical bills and afterlife expenses, we are humbly asking for assistance. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Mike, please give what you feel led to. Your gift will allow our family to walk forward as we face the dark days ahead, while honoring a great man and the legacy he leaves behind.

Thank you and God bless you,
Austin, Taylor and Madison
