Donated Nissan LEAF Battery, Shipping and Install

Hello,

My name is Sal Cameli and two and half years ago I created a FREE-to-use website for Installers who swap out Nissan LEAF battery packs.

Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

The Nissan LEAF is a great little Electric Vehicle that unfortunately has the worst battery in the EV industry, but the car has very little to no problems after years of service. The problem is that Nissan for a very long time did not offer replacement batteries and so we took it amongst ourselves to create a support network to help the 500,000 Nissan LEAF owners around the world to find battery resellers and installers.

(Today Nissan does offer replacement battery services but will only swap the same battery size and currently, they are backlogged by over 6 months of waiting for new packs to come in. This is why we need aftermarket choices)

Unfortunately, the battery, the shipping and the installation cost a lot of money.

Some owners cannot afford to pay these amounts and they are stuck with a car that has 20 miles range per charge. Every once in a while some vendor offers to send me a FREE battery to try out.

My LEAFs are fine but I'd love to give this donated battery pack away to a deserving Nissan LEAF owner who cannot afford to buy one themselves.

And so that's where we are at, David Su from Shenzhen Chooship Co., Ltd. http://chooship.com/ has offered to send me a FREE 24kWH Nissan LEAF battery pack and I have chosen a young Nissan LEAF owner who cannot afford a new Battery to be the recipient of this pack and Dex Tan (who runs Dex's LEAF Services in Texas will be doing the install)

The recipient is Joshua Ricon!

This GoFundMe fundraiser will cover the costs of crating & shipping the complete 24kWh pack battery from Shenzen China to Dex's Shop, Dex's installation costs and roundtrip vehicle transport from Joshua's city to Dex's shop (Joshua lives in Texas as well)

We figure that the total cost should be around $4500

Any additional funds that are raised will go to future recipients. We hope if this is successful that other battery vendors will donate more packs and we will organize future donations to well-deserving Nissan LEAF owners.
