In Memory of John ️️❤️

Hello, my name is Emma. On 5/4/23, my sister, Hali, married Johnathon Maine, a staff sergeant in the US Military. They chose this specific date because it’s “May the Fourth” and the two of them are huge Star Wars fans. They got married on Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Unfortunately, a couple months later John was diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma (an extremely rare form of cancer for adults). They moved back to Massachusetts to be close to family and for treatments, bringing their fur babies, Rex, Stella, and Nala with them. In February of 2024, John got to ring the bell announcing the end of his radiation treatments. Things were hopeful for a moment. By the end of March, we had found out the cancer had spread to his bones, and it was spreading rapidly. John’s strength was unmatched, and he fought all the way up until his final moments. On 6/12/24, surrounded by loved ones, John lost his battle to cancer.

My sister, Hali Maine, quit her job when John was diagnosed to devout her time to helping John through his battle. She was by his side every single second, through the good and the bad. It has been almost a year since she had last worked.
