To all my friends and family. Many of you have know Dorie either in person or through my Facebook posts. I met Dorie through Facebook through a post that mentioned she had brain cancer. I contacted her to give advice and support as many of you know I fought cancer for 2 years enduring 320 doses of chemo and 32 sessions of radiation. As Dorie and I started talking on the phone, we would end up chatting about everything and anything sometime til 3 in the morning.
To fast forward, on May 1, 2020 Dorie and I got married and had an incredible relationship.

Just a few months ago, she landed a new job with Collins Aerospace. She was so excited and proud of herself to get a job in a huge corporation. As she started working there, she would come happy and loved what she did. She would work on electronic boards from elevator equipment to military missile boards throughout her career. She loved the company and the people she worked with and for. While she was in the hospital, she kept them updated what was going on, and they held her position within the company. Unfortunately, she will never go back but I will never forget what they did for her. Since she worked through an agency, she had no health insurance.

In early June, we noticed that her abdomen was starting to swell and was taken to the emergency room. After running multiple tests, it was found that her liver was failing. During her stay, she developed a serious case of sepsis which delayed her surgery so she spent 3 weeks in the hospital eating and fighting hard to get better and ready for her surgery.
Unfortunately, the surgery did not go as expected and she again developed sepsis and was out in MICU. Her health condition deteriorated and it was determined that there is nothing further medically that could be done. As I am writing this story, I am in the lobby of the Hospice House where she will spend her last hours on this earth. I loved this woman so much that we spent every bit of our savings and credit cards between things she required when she came home and medication which all have been out of pocket because of no health insurance. After doing a lot of reading and speaking with multiple social workers, they said that most people ask help from their family and friends when you become buried financially because of health issues.

I have decided to open this GoFundMe account to ask for help from my friends to financially help us with her costs of cremation in which was her wishes and help my daughter and I get back on our feet and stable. As many of you know, I am 100% disabled but I am looking into a part-time job within the allowed time to not jeopardize my disability. Finding an employer to work around my disabilities will be a challenge but won't stop me.
I want to be able to give my wife the proper cremation she wanted as we discussed and she deserves that.

Thank you anyone that can contribute to this fund and please pray for my beautiful wife to have a safe journey to God's kingdom.

Thank you for reading our story.
