Help Geoffrey Douville Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Our dear friend Geoffrey Douville has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and he needs our help!
In October, Geoff began experiencing swelling in his neck, which he attributed to a simple virus and the manual labor he was putting in while starting a new business. By early December he was experiencing severe joint pain throughout his body, and had lost 10 pounds. In mid-December, as his symptoms intensified Geoff decided to go to the doctor. Early on, the doctor’s felt pretty certain this was an easily curable form of lymphoma, and ordered simple biopsies. It was only after a surgical biopsy, specialized tests, and both CT and PET scans that they realized Geoff has a rare and rapidly advancing form of stage 4 nasopharyngeal cancer that has metastasized to his lymph nodes (both neck and abdomen), liver and bone marrow. In early February, immediately after the diagnosis, Geoff started intensive in-patient chemotherapy at LSU University Medical Center.
In the face of this devastating news, Geoff and his family and friends have remained positive and confident that he will overcome this diagnosis. We have been encouraged that this type of cancer - even at stage 4 - is treatable. However, the best chance to beat this is to seek care at a more specialized hospital. In Mid-February he and his partner Traci will seek more thorough care at MD Anderson, which offers some of the most talented and experienced cancer professionals in the world, clinical trials, and innovative treatments that cannot be found in New Orleans.
As Geoff and Traci face the challenges ahead, Geoff has to put the new business, music, and video editing on hold. At the same time there will be hefty medical, travel, and living expenses. We are asking for your help so Geoff can use the time ahead to GET HEALTHY, spend time with his family and wonderful friends. Geoff, through his music, and most of all his friendship, has blessed all of our lives immeasurably. So many of you have reached out, wanting to know how you can help support him and his family during this difficult time.
Every positive thought, every dollar, and every gesture of support is greatly appreciated.
ANY AMOUNT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Thank you and please check back here for regular updates!
