Eagle Scout Project Repair Fairgrounds Food Booth
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference?
My name is Joey Hastings and I am a Boy Scout with Troop 1321 and a member of La Plata United Methodist Church.
For my Eagle Scout project, I am remodeling the food booth, that my church and other local organizations use, at the Charles County Fairgrounds. The food booth is one of our church’s largest fundraisers during the annual Charles County Fair each September.
I am hoping to increase the efficiency and work environment of the food booth by redesigning the layout of the workspace. Also, I will paint the ceiling and walls, replace the lighting and ceiling fans, replace the screens in the windows, resurface the countertops, and clean, repair and paint the floors. Any businesses wishing to donate materials, would be greatly appreciated. I will also need volunteers to help with the actual remodeling on future work days starting in late spring/early summer.
Estimated Costs
Materials $2,500
Supplies $100
Tools $100
Food for Volunteers $300
Total $3,000
Any extra money donated will be used to replace the existing roof and/or adding a roof to the exterior cooking patio.
Materials, Supplies, and Tools:
Semi-gloss latex paint for the ceiling and walls
LED lighting for the ceiling
Ceiling fans
Rolls of screen for windows
Formica sheets to cover countertops
Bar sink
Glue or adhesive for countertops
Concrete leveling compound to repair floor
Epoxy paint to cover concrete floor
Paint supplies
Cleaning supplies
Electrical wiring and conduit
Protective paper
Garage bags
Staples
Caulk
Heavy roller
Eye protection
Face masks
Buckets
Gloves
Why does this Eagle Scout Project means so much to me?
The food booth is my church’s largest fundraiser. At my church, we are always trying to find ways to receive more funding from the food booth in order to benefit our ministries. Through my proposed Eagle Scout project, I am hoping to increase the efficiency and work environment of the food booth which will achieve just that. Ultimately, it will help the community as a whole.
Thank You in Advance!
Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
