Emergency Housing for Post Op LVAD Recipient

My name is Taylor and I am the Primary Support Person/Caregiver/Girlfriend of Mike. An LVAD is a device that essentially pumps for the left side of Mike's heart and requires being attached to two special batteries or to the wall outlet at all times or the pump stops. He needed this machine due to advanced heart failure and being ineligible for a heart transplant. Mike had his first day of LVAD Placement Surgery on 10/10/23. We originally had housing with my family which ended on 01/25/24. Mike was hospitalized on 01/17/24 for an infection and transferred to CPMC San Francisco. On 01/25/24 Mike had a major debrievement surgery to remove infection along his drive line. We were told that the surgery was successful but the infection had spread so far up the machine that he required a full pump exchange. This was a major shock since he had almost no symptoms and I took him in for something entirely unrelated. Since our housing was eliminated we have been desperately trying to find housing for 4 weeks so he can continue with his wound vac and IV antibiotics. We have applied to all charities that we and our social worker have been able to think of, exhausted close family options, and community support options. Since the LVAD surgery is so extensive I am required to be with him Post surgery and will be unable to work for the next 4 weeks so I can be his full time caregiver. We are unsure of housing beyond the 4 weeks but right now I am just trying to keep him alive long enough to adjust to our new life. Anything at all is appreciated, including just sharing.
