Please Help for Emmas Stem Cell Transplant!
Donation protected
This in support of a 24-year-old mother of two young children children, ages 3 and 7, battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Emma was diagnosed in May 2018 and completed what was believed to be her last chemo session in November 27th after six months of heavy chemotherapy cycle. Unfortunately, after receiving the final PET scan to ensure the cancer was gone, they found out Christmas eve that the cancer either very quickly relapsed, or is refractory meaning it was non-responsive to the chemotherapy.
Now Emma will be completing another 6-12 sessions of chemotherapy in Penticton, followed by anywhere approximately 3 months in Vancouver General Hospital to receive a stem cell transplant and high dose chemotherapy designed to wipe out any remaining cancer cells along with bone marrow in hopes of eliminating the disease and preventing any further relapse. All funds received will be put towards multiple trips to Vancouver, the cost of multiple needed trips to Vancouver, accommodations needed in Vancouver following procedures, out of pocket medication costs, and child care for two young children at home.
Unfortunately due to certain circumstances Emma is unable to receive any E.I, or Disability of any sort, because she was a full time student going to UBCO. Emma's Dream is that once she gets through this to start a foundation to help other students financially and emotionally. Also to bring awareness to others so they can recognize the symptoms sooner, and stop Hodgkin's Lymphoma in its tracks.
