That’s because, like everything else these days, you have to have a marketing plan for your healthcare alternatives. You need PR, early sponsors, and goodwill ambassadors who will share your campaign. You have to have an AGENDA.

I'm in the business of systems-change work, and am doing my part to fix a system is so fundamentally broken that it means that millions of people aren’t getting healthcare every year.

But, that work is slow and it won't happen fast enough for my friend. Today, you can help start a conversation.

Earlier this year, Brett Harvey was diagnosed with Crohn’s and enterocolitis.

Over the last nine months, he’s lost more than 40 pounds, and has become a whisper of his former self. He’s been unable to work for months, leaving his family to care for him and support the household, a role he’s taken very seriously for the entirely of his life.

Out of respect, we’re not sharing current photos.

Nor will we be detailing the surgical procedures that are coming, or the specific needs of his family’s survival.

This isn’t their fault.

This is a systemic issue.

Our healthcare system is so badly damaged that people’s lives and livelihoods depend on the charity and goodwill of others.
