Hello friends , family and community,
I’m usually good at this, but this one is a hard one to write… so I’m going to default to my nieces and nephew’s letter.
(Since the curation of the letter below, my brother, Ernie, has passed. 9/14/22 @ 3:57am at home surrounded by his wife and 3 children)
Dear family and friends,
Our dad, Ernie (Ernesto) Gomez, was
diagnosed with stage 2 Multiple myeloma in November 2019.
Since then, he has been undergoing treatments to help prolong his time here.
This past year he was diagnosed with
stage 4 liver cancer and cirrhosis along with the multiple myeloma, progressing into stage 4.
He met with his oncologist early this month, September 2022, and he was notified that there is nothing more they can do.
On Saturday, September 10th he was hospitalized with sepsis.
If you know our dad you know he is strong, dedicated to his work, he
has a passion for construction and has always been a hardworking father, husband, employee and co worker.
His diagnosis did not stop him from working, honestly it's probably
what gave him the drive to stay so strong.
We, his children, will be financially responsible for all his medical and funeral
costs.
If you would like to contribute to that effort, it would be much appreciated and would help alleviate that burden during
this difficult time.

We love our dad very much and appreciate you taking the time
