Eskasoni First Nation Fundraises for Nysir M.

Hi, our names are John R. and Kateri, and we are helping Eskasoni First Nation (our community) to fundraise for Nysir Marquis Mitchell.

Nysir was a victim of a senseless attack that left him in critical condition at the QEII Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Eskasoni community members are hurt and saddened by the incident. We want to help Nysir and his family with expenses so that Nysir can begin his healing process and the long road to recovery.

Nysir Mitchell is a high school graduate who plans to go to university! Nysir travelled to Eskasoni to visit his girlfriend, Mali, for a few days. On his way to the store this morning, he was severely injured in a crime. Nysir was taken to the hospital and then transferred to Halifax for emergency surgery. He is currently in stable condition at the hospital.

Shakina, Nysir's mom, is currently travelling/driving from New York City to be with her son. She is a nurse and a single mom in New York. The community is fundraising by various means, including 50/50 draws and collecting donations.

Nysir is a fun-loving young man who enjoys gaming and living life. Mali, his girlfriend, describes Nysir as being a kind heart. Our community extends its sincerest support for Nysir and Shakina in every way possible.
