The Rizzo Family, Hurricane Ian devastation

Hello family and friends, my name is Jenifer Thompson. I’m starting a GoFundMe on the behalf of my dear friends, the Rizzo family.

On September 28, 2022, as many of you may know, a massive hurricane “Ian” hit Florida and the family including their dog Destina were in the eye of the storm at their house in North Port.

Thankfully all lives were saved. Due to the catastrophic hurricane flooding inside their home of septic and Flood water up to 3 feet, they lost majority of everything. With all the water damage they lost their cars, furniture, electronics, appliances as well as personal belongings…

Outside flood waters reaching up to six feet on the road they could not be rescued. After three days stranded at a flooded house with minimal food, water and no electricity they were safely removed with help from a neighbor.

They are temporarily staying at a friends house but need a plan for their permanent living. Unfortunately, they didn’t have renters insurance. They did file for federal aid but that will take months to go through.

All donations will go to helping Lily, Matt, Chris, & Destina with help buying clothes, food, medicine, and temporary shelter & relocating.
