The CDC recently updated their guidelines to suggest that all US citizens wear non-medical cloth facemasks to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
We need your help! Our goal is to have locals sew 3,000 facemasks for Valley County by April 15. We'll make it Mask Day instead of Tax Day!
We'll distribute masks to the communities of McCall, Donnelly, Cascade, and New Meadows to start. Individuals working in health care and high-traffic essential businesses like grocery stores, gas stations, etc. will be provided masks first, and then we'll aim to provide for the rest of our citizens.
Please donate to the effort! Funds will be used to purchase materials. Any funds remaining at the end will be given to local food banks.
Also, we need seamstresses and seamsters! If you are willing to help, reach out to [email redacted] and let us know who you are, where you are, and how you can help.
Do you have extra cotton or cotton/poly fabric lying around that has a high thread count? Please donate it! Reach out to [email redacted] and we'll coordinate pickup. At a very unsocial distance, of course.
We are coordinating with our local emergency services and hospitals in these efforts. Several church congregations and civic organizations are also offering their help.
