Family home burnt down on Christmas in PB fire

Hi Friends - as many of you have heard, at 1am yesterday (Christmas morning) about 115 firefighters and medic crews were called to the 1700 block of Hornblend Street in Pacific Beach in response to a three story apartment building construction site that suddenly caught on fire. By 2:30am the fire ripped through the construction site and burned down two neighboring homes.

Molly, Marcus, and their 1 yr old daughter Vada were in one of those homes. Woken by firemen banging on their front door to immediately evacuate and the sound of ambulances, the three of them huddled together and made it out of their smoke filled home. Amidst the chaos one of their two dogs went missing. Thankfully later found and reunited with his family!

Many of you know Molly and Marcus from working within the Food and Beverage Industry in San Diego. Marcus was a bartender at The Holding Company in Ocean Beach and Molly was the General Manager at Torrey Pines County Club prior to becoming small business owners. They now manage, travel, and operate a food truck in the Midwest all while being amazing new parents to a beautiful 1 year old baby girl.

I’m reaching out to the entire community for any and all help we can provide. They have lost absolutely everything besides the clothes on their back and a few salvageable items from their garage. All funds raised will be used to rebuild their life. That includes food, water, clothing, toiletries, toys, accommodations until they can find a new apartment, etc.
